Some Thoughts on Being a Part of Wall of Bakers
With the final episode of Wall of Bakers approaching, I’ve been able to take some time to reflect on what an amazing experience it was to be a part of the inaugural season of Wall of Bakers on The Food Network Canada.
I offer my thanks to everyone involved in the process. The production was top class from beginning to end - from the production team to the cast of judges, the tech crew, the hair and make up team, and the super stylish, humorous, kind, and best in the business host, Noah Cappe. Huge gratitude to each of the home bakers who brought their expertise and passion.
There was plenty of action, laughter, and tears as we made real connections with the home bakers and watched them persevere through their journey on national television! They bravely put themselves out there and left their hearts as well as their dishes on the table.
This experience served as a reminder of what I already knew - that baking creates connection between people, regardless of any differences we have, and keeps us connected throughout our lives. Baking gives us an opportunity to share our love and passion in life, to create traditions, to tell stories, and to keep the memories of our loved ones alive in our hearts forever.
Baking is more than flour; how we bake is a metaphor for how we live. I have always said that you can feel the love that you put into bread. I choose to love and to make beautiful things.
