Christies Through the Years

Christies Through the Years - Christies Bakery

Like everything, Christies has changed over time. When you've been around for 90 years, you begin to lose track of all those changes. I dug through our archives and found some pictures that show just how much the bakery has evolved over the years.

bakery in 1932

Here it is right around 1932, when the bakery first opened its doors. Looks quite a bit different, huh?

This is next door, but I couldn't get over the old school Coca Cola signs.

The bakery in the late 1970's, starting to look a little more familiar.

We've reached the turn of the century and the storefront looks like the bakery I grew up visiting and the one we all know today!

Now let's take a look inside!

I don't think I've ever seen so much space in the baking room!

See what I mean?

Marvellous coats, marvellous tiles and marvellous baking!

Gone are the tiles, but great baking will always be available!

Quite the evolution, huh? I wonder what the bakery will look like in another 90 years!

As you know, we're turning 90 this year. As part of our celebration, we're sharing memories of the bakery from family, friends, staff and our wonderful customers. If you have a story you'd like to share, please send us an email at stories@christiesbakery.com - we'd love to hear it!
