Planting Seeds
This week I had the pleasure of going to my old high school - ED Feehan - to speak to the kids on career day about “A Day in the Life of a World Famous Baker”. I have difficulty with being called world famous, but I decided to put my humble nature aside and just go with it so that I could plant the seeds of confidence in my life, nurture them, and watch them grow.
My dear beautiful friend and forever family member Donna-Marie Frasetto is a teacher at Feehan and asked me to speak to the students. We had such a great time there running though the old halls and remembering the past. We visited my old locker, the gymnasium (it still smells the same!), the trophy case, the art room, the home economics and industrial arts area, the band room, and the chapel. Some things have changed, but a lot of it is still the same. Built to last! I felt like I was a character in a John Hughes movie reliving my past in all its glory. I’m pretty sure that I moonwalked across the stage where I gave my speech at some point in high school. It was a great day!
I loved high school and it was because of the friends I met and the excellent teachers I had to help me learn and grow into the world. Running through the halls with Donna-Marie brought back some of those moments of my youth and it gave me so much joy! I even left the school with some awesome swag.
I want to take a moment to thank Donna-Maire for her wonderful introduction. When I talk about planting the seeds of confidence and watching them grow, this is one of those seeds that I intend to plant. This is my story and I am proud of those accomplishments. It is time to own it and stand tall.
“I am thrilled to introduce Tracey Muzzolini, a renowned baker from our very own hometown of Saskatoon, and a proud alumnus of EDF High School! Tracey made a name for herself with her incredible talent and passion for baking, co-owning the family business with her brother Blair- Christies Bakery and Chrisites Il Secondo, favourites from the Mayfair and Broadway communities. Tracey will give us a day in the life of a professional baker and entrepreneur. From walking these school hallways, to having been featured as a judge on Canada’s Food Network “Wall of Baker’s” to competing on Team Canada for baking in Mexico and France, there is much to learn from Tracey’s story!”
Thank you to all the teachers out there. I admire you and respect you for everything you do to help inspire, educate, and impress us throughout our formative years and beyond. I salute you!

Must have been so rewarding for the students as well as great for you.
I love meeting my former students anytime anywhere. Didn’t teach at Feehan. Did teach at St. Michaels, st. James, st Marguerite Bishop Klein and others. Keep up your good work. Hope to visit your Bakery one day.
