Meal for Two Ready in 15 Minutes!
If you’re anything like me, making dinner is usually the last thing that crosses my mind during the day. I’ve made a conscious effort this year to stop ordering takeaway and delivery as much as I can to focus on improving my cooking skills, but sometimes I just don’t feel like spending time cooking and cleaning up. That’s where our Heat & Eat Collection comes in! Using Scratch Provision’s Honey-Lime Chicken Legs, here’s a meal for two that you can make in 15 minutes with limited cleanup!
- One pack of Honey-Lime Chicken Legs
- Two ears of corn on the cob
- Garlic Bread
- Your bread of choice
- Garlic Butter (Try our Roasted Garlic Butter)
Preheat your oven/barbecue
Boom. Just like that we’re underway. We’ll be using either device to get our chicken legs ready to eat. When it comes to the corn and garlic bread, we can cook both on the barbecue along with the chicken legs. If you’re using an oven, we can throw the garlic bread in there, but we’ll need to boil our corn, so get a pot of water on the stove and start warming it up!
Shuck your corn and prep your bread
While our appliances heat up, we can do the very small amount of prep work required. Peel the corn and remove those silky strands. If you’re going to cook them on the barbecue, season the corn how you want.If you’re using our garlic bread, you won’t have to do anything, but if not there are a couple steps to getting the garlic bread ready. With your bread of choice, cut thick slices and spread our garlic butter on them. You can make your own butter, but to fit in our 15 minute window that’d be a step before you start cooking. Besides, our garlic butter is super tasty.
Cook it all!
Toss your wings on the bbq or in the oven. For maximum flavour throw them on a pie tin and add the remaining juice and lemon wedge. If you don’t have one, you can fold some foil into a nice little tray. Since the chicken is already cooked, we just need to heat it up and add some colour, easy peasy! You can wait a few minutes before cooking the corn, both the boiling and grilling methods will take about the same time, about 5-8 minutes. On the bbq, make sure you’re checking and turning the cobs so you don’t burn the corn. The same can be said for our garlic bread, leave it in the bag and place it in the barbecue or in the oven and make sure to constantly turn it. We’ll take it out when our chicken is ready. If you’re making your own slices, I recommend putting it in the oven or barbecue when you turn it off and remove the chicken and corn. There should be enough heat to toast the bread while we are plating the food.
Plate it up and eat!
All that’s left is to enjoy the food! Plate it up and eat!
